ABOUT PVC

What is PVC? Polyvinyl chloride (PVC),  commonly called ‘vinyl’, is a type of polymer formed from oil (or  gas) and salt. After this polymer is mixed with other substances at a high temperature it becomes  plastic and can be easily moulded, which is why its use is so widespread in many different industries.

PVCWHY PVC?

  • Because of its good heat insulation qualities, it provides large savings on energy costs by preventing heat loss.
  • Because it contains cloride, PVC is flame retardant.
  • It is lighter compared to aluminium and wood.
  • It has good sound insulation properties, thus reducing sound pollution.
  • It is very versatile.
  • PVC wastes can be recycled like wastes of paper and glass.
  • It is easy to clean and requires less maintenance.
  • By PVC being used as a wood substitute in the production of doors or windows, the number of trees felled is reduced and  forests are protected.
